Indie Travel Club serves budget-conscious international travelers.
My niche is the “two-star traveler” — those who fall in between the backpacker/hostel crowd and the fancy hotel crowd, a group that isn’t always well-served by the existing media. I also aim to inspire armchair travelers to take that first leap.
I am in the market for readable, practical content and photo essays. I don’t publish travel essays or personal blog posts, but I will consider republishing practical and reader-focused content.
Essential Elements:
- Must be targeted toward independent budget travelers
- No “solo female travel” pieces focused on safety (I’m not here to make women feel more at risk!)
- Must contain practical, actionable information
- No first-person travelogues – content should speak directly to the reader.
- No AI writing please.
Good article types to pitch include:
- Top 5 Lists
- How to articles (better ways to book discount travel)
- Travel planning pieces
- Destination pieces
- Food, entertainment, and attractions related to a destination or special interest
- Port guides, 24 hours in [destination] guides, etc.
- Travel hacks
- Gear reviews
Typical length 500-1000 words. We’re happy to include a link to your blog, site, or social media. We’re eager to publish new writers who have essential writing and SEO skills but need clips.
I typically pay $50-100 for content that will serve my readers well and drive search traffic to my site.
